The Foodpaths project
Auroville is situated on the Bay of Bengal in South India.
It is an experimental, international township — a laboratory for human unity.
Over the years, Auroville has evolved into a popular culinary melting pot, blending a rich tapestry of food traditions and new inspirations.
Food has the unique ability to forge bonds among people, transcending age, gender, language, and background.
It makes us feel at home and invites us to explore diverse cultures.
Let’s embark on a journey to discover the farmers, food artisans and cooks who create bridges and nourish our bodies and souls.
Learn about the locally grown produce available to us along the seasons.
Explore our food habits that contribute to the development of our experimental society.
Walk along these delicious paths!

Edo Grassi
Photographer
I have been immersed in the art of capturing images since around 2010, when I embarked on my journey of exploring the DSLR medium. Through my lens, I have captured a diverse range of subjects, including sports events, weddings, theatre plays, festivals, and concerts. Additionally, I’ve lent my expertise to various individuals fulfilling their photography needs.
One of the highlights of my photographic career was co-creating the coffee-table book titled “Happiness tastes like curry – my Indian kitchen” with Efrat Devir. This book garnered international interest, showcasing my distinct reportage-style and original work.
A second cookbook, developed in partnership with the Life Education Centre, vividly depicted South-Indian cuisine, finding its way into the homes of numerous Aurovilians and reaching even further.

I am a graphic and visual designer who holds a strong passion for sustainable farming and edible gardening. My creative inspiration stems from the unique fusion of cuisines in Auroville, harmoniously intertwined with an exploration of mindful eating.
Over the years, my active involvement with Foodlink (Auroville Farms Cooperative) in management and communication has provided me with invaluable insights into locally grown produce.
I am currently creating product labels and designing the website for both Annapurna Farm and Foodpaths Auroville.
Driven by a dedicated purpose, I am wholeheartedly focused on developing the food sector in alignment with Auroville’s dream and charter.
